Hi, I'm Victoria...

...certified STOTT PILATESĀ® instructor, runner and founder of RUNLATES!

I came to running in my early 30s, already doing Pilates but wanting to further improve my fitness. Having grown up in Shropshire, I love being outdoors and after finding a great group of running buddies, one thing led to another and ended up signing up for my first marathon.  It was during training I appreciated how well Pilates had prepared my body for running, as I was able to up the distances and training whilst avoiding the common injuries (hips, knees, ankles!) we all dread.  

Keen to learn more, I trained as an instructor and now love to share with my clients why we're doing an exercise, as well as 'how' - the biomechanics of running fascinate me, and it's amazing how many Pilates exercises there are that can help develop the form, posture, strength and flexibility we all need.

what is Runlates?

In short, a form of Pilates, tailored to runners!  Pilates is a low impact form of exercise, focused on improving posture, alignment and core strength to ensure your muscles can work safely and effectively.  The approach is centred around developing strong muscle balance around key joints, whilst ensuring good spinal mobility.  

For runners, good alignment and core strength is essential to ensure the force transferred through your legs is distributed effectively to avoid pain in areas such as your lower back, knees and hips. This is why Pilates is the perfect match to help you stay injury free!

We offer live online classes, personal training and bespoke programmes tailored to your individual goals, that are a combination of Pilates 1-2-1s and group classes with friendly in-built support. If you're recovering from injury, we're able to liaise with your physio to help assist your return to running.
